Zaiton Abdullah brings over 25 years of global HR leadership experience, partnering with boards and executive teams across oil and gas, banking, hospitality, and insurance sectors.
Her career includes a significant tenure at Shell, both in Malaysia and the Netherlands, where she led strategic HR initiatives in talent management, succession planning, policy design, and HR governance. At Shell Malaysia she set and drove the country talent agenda across multiple business lines, while at Shell International in the Netherlands she was part of the global HR leadership team, shaping policy and remuneration frameworks across shared-service centres.
Beyond corporate leadership, Zaiton also pursued entrepreneurship by establishing HBSC Kitchen (He Bakes She Cooks), a home-based baking and food preparation service. This venture allowed her to combine creativity with business management, building niche products, engaging communities, and promoting wellbeing through small-group events.
She specializes in:
Leadership assessment and readiness evaluation for senior roles
Succession planning and building robust pipelines for leadership continuity
Inclusive leadership and embedding diversity and equity into organizational culture
HR governance and ensuring clarity, compliance, and board-level accountability
Her consulting approach combines analytical rigor with human-centered design, ensuring solutions are both credible and sustainable. Through ZA Talent Academy (ZATA), Zaiton enables organizations to transform HR from a support function into a strategic driver of change.
Clients engage her to deliver immediate outcomes such as stronger leadership pipelines, inclusive cultures, and governance clarity, while also building the internal capacity that sustains transformation well beyond the consulting engagement.
